Job Description

The Senior Compensation Analyst provides a broad range of support, analysis and guidance on the development, design and delivery of compensation solutions and advice for various businesses/functions. The Senior Compensation Analyst reviews job content and organizational information from business clients and independently evaluates jobs based on external competitiveness and internal equity to determine salary grades. The job also initiates and participates in other salary and incentive design and administration functions.

Depth & Scope:

Participates in external salary surveys including data preparation, compilation, refining, transmission, and follow-up. Establishes relationship with survey vendors and provides feedback about survey content
Completes all aspects of the market intelligence process including research, end-to-end employee matching, data validation, interpretation and professional presentation of findings for AMCB’s lines of business
Prepares detailed compensation analytics and models as needed to support both cyclical and ad hoc project-related deliverables
Supports all compensation recommendations with market intelligence expertise and equity valuations
Monitors trends in the external market
Supports the team of advisors with professional business-related research and analysis
Performs Exemption status review of new and existing jobs to ensure full compliance with the exemption provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)


  • Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
    3+ Years of relevant experience
    Strong skills in mathematics and analytics, with the ability to analyze large amounts of data, identify trends and provide succinct explanations behind the data
    Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to tell a compelling story with data to create persuasive recommendations
    Strong technical skills with a focus on building models/processes to help complete deliverables in a quick and efficient manner
    Working knowledge of local, state and national laws and regulations pertaining to compensation programs, in particular, the Fair Labor Standards Act
    Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
    Intermediate to advanced computer skills – experience with MS Excel required; MS Access preferred
    Ability to work under pressure of meeting deadlines of a variety of simultaneous workloads
