Department Overview

As a Data Scientist within TD’s AIML Practice, you will contribute towards the evolution of TD’s Machine Learning & Speech/Language Analytics capability. You will specifically be responsible for developing and managing Machine Learning and Speech/Language models in support of the North American Contact Centre (NACC).

This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your technical and analytical skills to real world challenges and see your work positively impact colleague and customer experience. You will be expected to work with multiple business partners to advance the use of Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Large Language Models (LLM) in support of a variety of NACC initiatives and priorities.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain statistical and machine learning models in support of NACC capabilities/initiatives/priorities
  • Support TD’s voice to text transcription capability via custom tuning of call transcription models where/when required
  • Develop a variety of language models/solutions to support front line coaching (abuse, compliance, disclosures, etc.) and customer experience initiatives (understanding pain points, customer sentiment, nature of complaints, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Model Risk Management and other control partners to ensure developed models are effective, stable, unbiased, and compliant
  • Develop and support ongoing model monitoring work for the existing model inventory to ensure sustained performance of all models

Job Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in developing classical and Machine Learning prediction/classification models
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise with Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models
  • Proficient in Python
  • Experience with SQL, Azure Cloud and Azure ML Services is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to translate complex/technical terms and concepts into easy-to-understand business language
  • Motivated to constantly strive to find innovative ways to enhance processes and analytical solutions
  • Undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or modeling related discipline such as Economics or Finance (Graduate Degree is considered an asset)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred
