Job Description

The IT Senior Architect – US Payments assigned to a domain specialization and provides architectural direction, guidance and governance in structure, design, technology applications and/or infrastructure of the US Payments operation. This role also provides strategic guidance ensuring technology teams and business areas understand the architectural options and technology choices that account for total cost of ownership, risk and leverage strategic enterprise assets. This role will develop and maintain a technical Payment Architecture that supports the most efficient, reliable, scalable, and secure solution to meet the business needs and technology enterprise strategy.

Requirements

• Top technical individual contributor role with expert knowledge of specific domain or broad range of architecture frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures, as well as broader organization issues and relevant technology
• Provide expert consultation and act as a subject matter expert for US Payments on projects. Primary subject matter expert with specialized knowledge related to Payments architecture
• Define the Payments integration solution for all channels and across lines of businesses and align the integration architecture components with enterprise strategy
• Provides technical leadership / consulting / direction to a larger team on all aspects of architecture to ensure advanced learning occurs
• Foresees architectural issues / gaps and identifies emerging industry trends (i.e. future focused)
• Influences product direction and integrates technology from an architectural perspective within the business environment; fulfills an IT governance role
• Provides recommendations on value-added architectural improvements / enhancements

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate
• Graduate degree preferred
• 10+ years related experience

Strongly Preferred Qualifications
• An understanding of key core components or services of various Payments ecosystems; including real-time and batch-oriented business paradigms would be strongly preferred
• Understanding of the revenue cycle in payments – interchange, FX fees, fee based organizations, etc, would be strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of EDI formats – SWIFT, FED, CHIPS, ISO 20022, etc. would be strongly preferred
• Knowledge on industry magic quadrants and trends (below) strongly preferred

b. Back end core platforms
c. Emerging Payments
d. Payment Hub

• Experience in Merchant Acquiring, Network, and/or Issuing businesses is strongly preferred
